Your Senior Bear Cross Country Team are the Region 1A/2A Champions! All runners finished in the top 20 with Brayden Jones finishing 2nd, Isaac Lowe finishing in 6th, and Dakota Sullivan finishing in 7th place. Abigail Stone capped off a strong 7th grade year with a 4th place regional finish for the Junior Lady Bears.

The Senior Bears will go to Hot Springs this Thursday to compete in the State Meet at Oaklawn. Congratulations guys!!!

Little delayed but we wanted to give a big shout out to our Cross Country Teams for their performance this weekend! SR Boys are 8 1-4A Conference Champs! Several JR Girls finished with new personal records and Abigail Stone had a top ten finish! Way to go!!!

Woodlawn FBLA had a great day at the Fall Leadership Conference in Stuttgart! 🌟 District President Eli Smith and Parliamentarian Brit Swan helped lead the event and proudly represented our school. We’re so proud of this groups leadership and dedication to becoming Future Business Leaders of America!

The Union Pacific railroad visited Woodlawn High School this week, Mr. John Varnell came to talk about general railroad and train safety along driver safety near railroads as part of the U.P. Cares program. Also, Mr. Derwin Davis, Sr. Recruiter (HR) spoke with students about the many career and educational opportunities available within the railroad and transportation career cluster. Parent-Teacher Conferences are tomorrow! School will be dismissed at 1:45 and teachers will be available to see parents from 3:00 to 7:00 tomorrow afternoon. We look forward to seeing you!

Help us kick off homecoming week with a semi-formal dance to be held Saturday, October 25!!

Elementary will start from 2:30-3:30 for K-3rd grade and 4:00-5:00 for 4th-6th grade.

Jr. High (7th-9th) will attend from 5:30-6:30 and Sr. High (10th-12th) will end the night from 7:00-8:00.

Tickets are $5 each and concession items will be available for purchase at the dance.

You can also purchase tickets from Mrs. Burris or Mrs. Jaime in the High School during Parent Teacher conferences.

Last week, Woodlawn Elementary School received recognition from the Office for Education Policy at the University of Arkansas for having demonstrated high growth on the ATLAS exams!

Woodlawn Supporters, There will be a meeting of the Woodlawn Booster Club this Monday evening at 6:00pm in the Woodlawn cafeteria. Even though the Woodlawn Booster Club is not a school sponsored program, the operations and proceeds generated by this organization are vital to the many successful programs within our school. In order for the Woodlawn School District to support this organization, it is crucial that this club is transparent and is a reflection of the many good people and parents within our community. It is also important that this organization is one that can have the support and trust of everyone who gives to the many different sporting events through membership and volunteering. I would like to encourage you to come and help to restructure this organization so our children can continue to benefit from the many things that have been provided by the Woodlawn Booster Club.

Woodlawn School District will be hosting our annual Report to the Public at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, October 14th in the Administration building. The report will be followed by our Master Planning meeting and monthly School Board meeting.
