Here are our elementary Pawsitive Students for September!
If you're new here; students have the chance to earn a bear paw all year for showing our positive word of the month in some way, or doing anything that is positive or kind to others. Students are also nominated by their teachers to be our "Student of the Month" if they have consistently demonstrated positive character behavior.
Congratulations to all of our Pawsitive Students and to our September Students of the Month!

A HISTORIC ACHIEVEMENT FOR WOODLAWN!
We are incredibly proud to announce that Woodlawn Elementary School has earned an “A” rating from the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) for the FIRST TIME in our school’s history! 🎉🐻
This brings our overall school district rating to a "B"!
And that’s not all — Woodlawn has also been recognized as an Arkansas Gem School! 💎
So, what does this mean?
An “A” rating reflects strong performance across multiple areas of Arkansas’s school accountability system, including student achievement and student growth. It represents the academic progress our students are making and the work happening every day in our classrooms.
💎The Arkansas Gem School recognition celebrates schools that demonstrate outstanding results in areas such as academic achievement, academic growth, and sustained improvement.
But behind every rating and every award are our students, teachers, staff, families, and community.
This achievement represents countless hours of teaching, learning, encouraging, challenging, supporting, and believing in our students. It is a reflection of the dedication of our educators and the hard work of our students — with the support of our families and community behind them every step of the way.
We are proud of how far we have come, grateful for everyone who has helped us get here, and excited about where we are going next.
Congratulations, Woodlawn! This is OUR achievement! 🖤🤍

Law enforcement has been notified, and we will continue to work with them as they assess the situation. We will provide additional information if needed.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
