Hermitage Senior High has informed us that they are forfeiting this Friday nights game. We are going to move the Junior High start time to 6:00 and we will recognize our Seniors at halftime of the Junior High game.

It was brought to our attention last night that there was a potential situation involving a threat from one of our students toward another student. School officials in cooperation with the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office investigated the potential threat and the student in question is in the custody of the Cleveland County Sheriff’s office. We cannot make any further comment at this time due to an ongoing investigation of the matter. Your students safety is our top priority at Woodlawn School District.

At approximately 6:30 am Woodlawn School District was notified of some disturbing social media posts that were made by one of our students. No threats were made directly to students or to the school. Further investigation of this report revealed that there was no danger posed to children and staff at Woodlawn School District. Woodlawn School District thanks the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department for acting promptly to ensure the safety of our children.

Bears Fans! At this Friday nights home opener against Rose Bud we will be recognizing our PeeWee football players and cheerleaders in between our Junior and Senior High games. If you are the parent of a PeeWee Bear you can bring your family in Friday night with a donation of water, Gatorade, Liquid IV, or protein bars! We have a 7th grade game with Rose Bud starting at 5:00 and will have the Junior and Senior High games to follow. The PeeWee kids will be recognized in between the Junior and Senior High Games. One more post for this evening, we had another group of students receive positive referrals from our staff to cap the week off. Congratulations to Adalyn Puthoff, Landyn Graves (who is our first multiple recipient of the year), and Annie Davidson. Two of them cleaned up the science lab without being asked to (including other students areas) and one of them displayed the kind of role model characteristics we like to see from our Bears!
